Energy Medicine wasn't something I was super down with at first, it seemed a little too woo woo for me. But over time it grew on me through my experiences with it. Emotional energy is stored in our myofascia and the psoas muscle. Feelings like fear, anger and sorrow can even hide out in the organs. Until this energy is moved, these emotions, these things that upset our everyday and our nervous system, they keep on living within our cells and our bodies like we're a host. "Feelings buried alive never die." By applying Holistic modalities around the art of ritual, you can start to move unwanted crap out of the body. 

When I was told I had Lymphoma, my focus was not only to make lifestyle changes, but to also let go of my unhealed shit.

 

I did this by writing, crying, spending time in nature, dancing, being naked, exercising, building a community of women around me, gardening, meditating, working with holistic practitioners, massage therapists, energy workers, animals, herbs, crystals, and more. But it was honestly when I needed to heal trauma, that my connection and relationship with energy medicine grew. I learned that disease is often (not always, but often), created in the body from unreleased emotions.

 

This stored energy becomes toxic to the mind, body and spirit. Without moving it, it will grow like Gizmo when given food after midnight. Our bodies store energy as memories, it believes what we tell it and then repeats the message to our cells over and over again. We have to change up the narrative to achieve total success here. The ego is strong willed and we're all coded to survive. Energy Medicine, especially when combined with other holistic modalities, such as meditation and yoga, can truly uplift and reshape your entire being from the inside out. It's medicine through movement.
